The Sadowski Clan makes it to CR!

Sunday, July 31st, 2016

July 17th, 2016

Eight years ago, my mom’s best friend Holly purchased a home in Costa Rica not too far away from where we live now. At that time Ella and I were still in our mommy’s tummy….. Ella was born August 8th not long after me and after her birth and life being crazy busy the Sadowski’s did not come down to their home until now. We are so EXCITED TO SEE THEM!!! Thankfully I get to see them each year at my benefit in Texas but it is so exciting to be able to show them around! The Sunday they arrived they came over that afternoon and my mom went with them on the canopy tour! They came back and we all had dinner together. Ella showed me how to play a card game called garbage. It was so much fun. Ella and I were on the same team and we beat mom and Holly! It was great! Ella would put the card in my hand and I would have to drop it and each time bam we were ahead! Ella said I was good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

I was so happy to have Ella here. I kept reaching out to touch her hand and smiling over at her. I have been working extra hard in therapy too. My mom says I am showing off for Ella. It seems that all of a sudden I have become stronger, bigger, slowly but surely sleeping better…. It has taken me such a long time to get to this point. My seizures have backed off as well. Life is like a roller coaster full of ups and downs and thankfully I am on the up at the moment and very happy to be able to spend this quality time with my friends.

Ella’s dad Mark, is always so sweet to me. He loves to talk to me and he also gave me a good talking to about sleeping at night! The first night they came I actually listened to him and slept great that night! It was a miracle! haha!! Holly, had a cold and she wasn’t allowed to come near me…. I know how much she wanted to cuddle me…. At the end of her trip, mom let her cuddle me with a mask on her face. She wasn’t very sick but we all know how my mom is when it comes to me catching something.

The day before the Sadowski’s left we had a party at my house with all my girlfriends so that Ella could meet them. It was so much fun, and Ella was so sweet with me. Genesis and Gabriella my two besties from here were dying to meet Ella. They made her cards and gave a small gift. It was extra special and we all had a great time! After we made our projects we put some dance music on and everyone was dancing even the mom’s! It was a great party. I feel so blessed to have so many special people in my life. It was sad to see them go but I will see them soon in Texas. Thanks for coming to see us!!! Hope you come back next year! I think Ella will make sure of that! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Granny’s visit!

July 4th, 2016

Granny finally makes it here!! She was supposed to come for my birthday party but all of a sudden out of no where her blood pressure decided to spike to super high numbers and she had to get it under control before coming to see us. This was a first for her as she never has had high blood pressure before. So three weeks later she makes it here. The first few days started off okay…but then later in the week on a Friday night Granny felt terrible! Mom had to take her to the Cobano emergency clinic to have her heart checked and to see a doctor. The doc suggested another pill… She did but it really didnt help and the next few days my mom slept over at my granny’s while dad stayed with me because granny was scared and did not feel well. My paw paw doesn’t arrive for a few more days so my mom was taking good care of her mommy just like she takes good care of me!

I wasn’t doing so great either… Still not sleeping well at night. The sedative mom gives me to sleep doesn’t work anymore. I have become accustomed to it and sometimes I don’t sleep until 3am. My seizures have been on high so there definitely is some stress around here!

In the end, granny had to go see a cardiologist in San Jose. My cardiologist referred a good one for granny! Turns out her heart is fine and the DR. here took her off all the medicine she was taking and put her on a different one! After that granny was fixed up and feeling better in no time! We were able to enjoy the last of her trip together without fears of heart attacks or strokes thank goodness! I told granny it took her to come to Costa Rica to get cured!!! Paw Paw finally showed up and we had some good times together…

The Parker’s arrived!

June 24th, 2016
We dropped grandma off at the airport. We all so sad to see her go! Our friends Michael and Susan came to visit for a few days. We rode the ferry back with them and came home to a crazy storm. The wind was so strong tree limbs were flying through the air. We came home to no electricity and got home just in time before the sun went down so we could light candles. The storm only lasted for 30 minutes but caused a lot of damage our nursery cloth blew down and a huge tree blew over right up the street from us! It was scary!

The sun came out the next day, Michael and Susan came over and had dinner with us and we had a really nice time with them. Michael and Susan are the owner’s of Opal Divine’s where I have my benefit each year. They are so kind to us always by allowing us to be there! My benefit this year is September 24th. Looking forward to seeing them again in Texas!

Cannabis Conference in San Jose

Sunday, July 31st, 2016

June 21, 2016
Today we left for San Jose. Is bittersweet as we are taking Grandma Marg back the city so she can fly home on Thursday… However I am super excited that she will be able to come with us to the Legislative Assembly tonight to hear various different speakers. We took the 11am ferry so we could make the 6pm conference. Tonight’s speakers are a priest from El Salvador, a retired DEA agent from New Jersey, a patient, and two Senators. It was pouring rain and the traffic at 5 in San Jose is terrible but we made it on time thankfully! We met with Emmanuelle, he was hosting the conference. He is a very nice man and is trying to help get medicinal cannabis passed here in Costa Rica.

We were asked to sit in the front row. Everyone was very happy we made the journey to come. There were many lights and the speakers were talking loud.. I began to get over excited from it all. When the priest spoke he talked about how he has had to sit beside many people suffering from an illness such as cancer dying in pain and how he felt God put this plant here to save lives and help those suffering in pain. The DEA agent, Lieutenant Jack Cole was great in explaining how after all these years of prohibition the US only made things worse and caused more people to use. He was passionate in his belief that the drug war is steeped in racism, that it is needlessly destroying the lives of young people, and that it is corrupting our police.
He said he felt terrible about all the lives he ruined by arresting innocent people for smoking cannabis. He is co-founder of LEAP. Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. He was really nice man and very smart and he kept smiling at me the whole time!

By the time the third speaker came around, I was about to squirm out of my seat. So Naty and grandma took me outside to stroll me around. It was too much stimulation for me and it was getting late. I missed hearing my mom speak. She got up at the end of the conference and spoke how Cannabis has helped me so much, how the pharma drugs had caused me so many other problems, and how if your child was suffering from epilepsy wouldn’t you try anything to help your child to stop having them? It was powerful and we were all very happy that we were able to attend and hopefully Costa Rica will legalize medicinal cannabis soon.

Our birthday bash!

Sunday, July 10th, 2016

June 18th 2016
Today we had our dual birthday party! It is a wild west theme and everyone coming is dressing up cowboy or cowgirl style! Grandma and Mom have been very busy since coming back from the beach preparing for our big party! There is lots of planning and cooking to do! Naty my PT is in charge of the decorations and games for us kids! I have been doing pretty good… I still have issues with sleeping at night and morning seizures seem to always want to bother me when I wake up but other than those two things bugging me things are good. I am excited about my party today many of my friends came to wish me and dad happy birthday.

Naty turned the house into a saloon and we had hay bails outside and a giant boot for my piรฑata. There were horsehoes, and roping contests as well as water balloons! Of course my dear friends Sara and Rachid played their violin and chello for me and even received an encore! They played can can one more time and had everyone dancing! It was so much fun! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for all who came, and especially grandma. It meant the world to me to have you here. Until next year!
