Going to get Grandma!

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

We have had a great weekend. Yesterday we went to the market in St. Teresa to sell plants down at the beach and Luisa came with us so she could take me for a stroll while mom and dad worked. We had a really great time. This is our second Saturday to go to the market and sell plants. I really like it as I love the beach and to feel the cool breeze in my hair. Last weekend Sofia and Johnny went with us and yesterday Luisa came along to watch over me and take me for a stroll.

Today has been a great day. I slept in till almost noon and then had a relaxing afternoon with mom and dad. We went down to the beach this afternoon to watch the sunset and take the dogs for a stroll. Tomorrow we head to San Jose to get my grandma. Grandma Marg is coming from Canada to see me. She has not seen me since last March. She was with us for a month when I was in the hospital last year. I was very thin and weak when she left me in March. She will not know what to think of me now! I am so much bigger and stronger! I cant wait for her to see all my new moves in therapy. Sofia has been working me out with one of the new therapy toys my grandma bought me so that she can see how good I am doing with it… I am looking forward to seeing her. I don’t have any doctors appointments this time. We will be seeing Geovanny (my other therapist) and my pediatrician for a quick visit. Geovanny is making me a stand to put my new chair on so that I can have dinner higher up at the table with everyone else.

Big day of travel tomorrow. Better get some sleep now.

Interviewing therapists!

Our first interview was with Itzi. She had come to see me last year when I was in the hospital recuperating from being so ill.  Itzi came with her mom and dad to check out Delicias and to see where I work out daily. She worked out with Sofia and me on Saturday. Itzi is very nice, she seemed a little nervous to be holding me though and of course the first time she picked me up I cried. She  was trying hard to please me. Itzi and her parents came over for dinner that night and the following morning we went back out to the platform to work out with Itzi again. I still sense that she is nervous working with me but then who would not be I can be hard to handle sometimes! We had a nice time with Itzi and her parents and after we worked out on  Sunday they left at noon to head back to San Jose.

This past Tuesday Olga came from San Jose to interview. Olga came by herself, she said she is used to traveling alone so that is a good thing!  She arrived at noon and watched how I have lunch. At 4pm we went out to the platform and worked out. Sofia showed her the exercises she does to me on a daily basis and then Olga had to reinterpret them. She did a good job and had much confidence when holding and working with me. I have to have someone that is not going to be afraid of me as I am always trying to take charge of the situation!!! It is important for me that whoever is taking Sofia’s place is comfortable with working with me. I am not that easy to manipulate around! Olga stayed the night and the following morning we went back out to my platform. Today I am very sleepy and not really wanting to do much of anything. Sofia, Olga and my mom keep trying to wake me up. Finally I opened my eyes and we were able to get a good hour in of working out. Olga left on the 3pm bus back to San Jose. Now we have to make a decision. In the end it is really up to me as if I am not happy with my therapist nobody is happy!
