Swimming by myself!

Today was the first day I was able to go into my swimming pool by myself, well kind of! I have a new float that fits around my neck and allows to me to float freely. It is the coolest thing! At first I was a little scared. I am so used to having my mom or dad hold me that I did not know what to think when they let me go all by myself! What an incredible feeling it was. I was free floating in the pool! I was able to kick my legs and move my arms. What a wonderful feeling to be floating… My weight was gone, it was just me and the water and I was swimming! I am thankful for a very smart woman named Nancy Higgs who designed this float. If any of my other special friends out there are interested in floating and swimming on their own you should check out www.waterwaybabies.com! Super cool and fun! I was pooped after I finished swimming! I did not know I could move my little legs and arms that well and all that hard work tired me out! Life for me is really good right now. I am happy and healthy and so thankful that these last three months have been smooth sailing for all of us here. I can’t wait to go back into the pool tomorrow. I was wondering how this new water therapy was going to be but I think I am going to like it alot!!!!

Love Malia

Hi! I’m Reagan Hicks, Dick and Pasty’s grandaughter. This Story about you learning to swim all by yourself inspired me. You are one brave little girl,Malia. I have a hearing problem where I have to where a ear plug in anything that is water. It makes me feel like I’m diffrent and nobody will like me. I have to go!
