Chicago!!
Friday, September 4th, 2009August 14th 2009
We are off to Chicago. I am a little nervous about this trip as I am meeting with one of the top specialist in Lissencephaly. He is going to read my MRI to my mom and dad. We made it into Chicago with no problems. We had a wonderful driver pick us up at the airport as my mom and dad were not to keen on driving in Chicago! We stayed downtown and arrived on Thursday afternoon. We decided to head out to Navy Pier and go for a stroll along the water. It was a beautiful day. My mom put me in my carrier but I soon fell fast asleep. All this travelling really wears me out. It was nice though to feel the sun on my face and wind in my hair.
The following day we went see the doctor. Our appt was at noon. I could tell my mom and dad were anxious as no one likes to go to the doctor. The doctor was very smart and had lots of experience, however he was no Patch Adams. We met with him and he said that my brain is almost completely smooth. I have the beginings of convultions at the front of my brain. I think that is a good thing! I could have none! So basically on a scale to 1 to 4 the doc gave me a 2 with 1 being the worst. My mom and dad say that being right in the middle is not so bad! We can only go up from here! We have to work on fattening me up! I work out so darn much and have been adjusting to the Texas heat what did they think I was going to gain a ton??? So mom is back in the kitchen putting every fattening thing she can into my mouth! Overall our trip went well. We have more knowledge and my parents say knowledge is power! Back to Austin tomorrow! Only 6 days left until my party!

My first vacation!
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009August 8,2009
This is the begining of my vacation. How exciting. I will be travelling from Costa Rica to Austin Texas, Chicago, Austin, Vancouver, Victoria BC, Kitimat BC, Vancouver, back to Austin and then home to Costa Rica! This will all unfold in a six week time period!
We woke up and caught our 7:00 am flight to Austin! The start of our trip was looking good as we were bumped up to first class! My mom and dad were happy about that and me too as I had more room to spread out on my mom’s lap! The food is not so bad either! We went to see my Uncle Andy out at his cool house in the hill country. He has been so sweet to me and made this awesome web site for me. Austin Texas sure is hot! It was over a 100 degrees everyday I was there! Ouch! Inside all the buildings it was like a freezer! It took me a while to get used to the change! I love being in Texas though great mexican food! I love my refried beans and cheese!
We went out to my grandma’s house in Lockhart and I was able to see all my Aunt’s, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. Everybody wanted to hold me and run their hands through my hair! I was sure tired the next day as everybody passed me around like a hot tamale!
We will be leaving soon for Chicago. More stories to come.
Adventures in the air!
Monday, August 3rd, 2009Well mom and I were back on the plane again! We went in for more blood work and my PT and OT appts. This time the trip went a little smoother! Well kind of! At the last minute, we found out our flight had changed its flight plans for the day and we would not be arriving to San Jose until much later than expected. So mom called the only other airline and booked us a ticket fast so that we would arrive on time for our appointments! This time we stayed the night and it made our travelling less hassled! I did great at my workouts and my blood work came out fine! I am getting excited about my upcoming trips to Texas, Chicago, and Canada! These little commuter flights will seem like nothing once I board all my planes for my upcoming vacation and party! I cant wait!
Beach Time
Monday, August 3rd, 2009I could not let yall think that all I do is work and not have any play! We had a great day at the beach! We had a family outing with my grandparents and my cousin Casey and we headed to the beach in St. Teresa! It was a beautiful day! My dad says one day he hopes to teach me how to get up on a board!!!! Right now, I just love to listen to the waves, feel the ocean breezes and take really long naps!! What a great day we had!!!
Our whirwind trip to San Jose
Sunday, July 19th, 2009A couple of weeks ago, my mom and I went to San Jose on the commuter plane. I had to go and have my blood drawn to test and see if my liver and blood levels were doing okay with my new medicine. What we thought would be an easy day! We set out at 8am to catch the 9:30 flight. All went well flying into San Jose! We were the first off the plane. We had to pass through immigration first. I do not have a Costa Rican passport yet so we were using my birth certificate! We were only on a 30 mintue flight! Well,,, the immigration officer thought with my curly blonde hair that I had to be illegal…So we had to wait for everyone else to go through customs then he took my birth certificate off to his boss! After 30 mintues of waiting we were told all was good! Now my mom was really stressed as I had to have my blood drawn and see my PT! We as well had to catch our flight back at 1:30pm! Off we went to the lab only to be told by the girl who would be taking my blood she did not feel comfortable doing it! She called in their kid specialist and when he showed up he stuck the needle in my arm and could not find my vein! I was not happy about this at all! So my mom kindly but in a stern voice said to take the needle out! We were off to another lab. The next lady had loads of experience and was able to draw my blood without any problems. I did not mind it so bad as she was fast and it did not take too long. Thank goodness my mom and PT are friends as she was kind enough to drive us to the other lab and while we were waiting was able to squeeze in 15 minutes of a mini workout with me! By the time we were finished it was 1:00 pm and we were in downtown and had to drive back to the airport. My mom called the lady at the airport and she told us she would not be able to hold the plane if we were late. So Linda drove us really fast to the airport. We were late, but the nice lady at the airport had talked to the pilots and they remembered us from the morning and said sure they would wait for me! That was so sweet! So back home we went thru much turbulence as it is the rainy season now and weather here starts to change in the afternoon. My mom was sure glad to get us back home! So another crazy adventure for me! I am becoming quite the traveler and will soon be headed off to Texas and Canada for my party and to visit my family! I cant wait! My test results came back fine and my body is adjusting well to the new medication! Yeah!
