Post surgery check up!

April 5th
A month has passed since my surgery and I have a check up with Dra. Jimenez. She wants to make sure my incisions are healing well and also to see if I get the green light to go horseback riding and swimming! My mom and dad sent Maria Jose to a course in San Jose on horse therapy. She was trained out at a ranch outside of San Jose where they teach therapists how to ride with Special Needs kids like me. She is really excited to try out what she has learned with me! I am excited as well, as I have never been on a horse before but I think I am going to like it. My mom says it is in my blood as she rode horses when she was a young girl.

The appointment went great we also changed my gtube in her office so I have a new one and Dr.Jimenez was very impressed how I was healing. I have also gained weight as well. She told me I was ready for more activities and that I am good to go! We are all very happy! The following day I had my six month check up with Dr. Luna, my neurologist. It was time for an evaluation. As I had mentioned before my seizures have come back and we are contemplating right now changes in my medications and raising my dosage on what I am currently taking for the seizures. The appointment went well and for now we will try raising different meds to see if that helps.

On our way back to Delicias we swung by CIMA and did some lab work to see how my Hemoglobin and Valporic levels were doing. This was the quickest trip we have ever made to San Jose! We were in and out in two days! Yeah we are headed home!!!

March 26
March is moving right along and we are having fun for a change!! 🙂 First thing we did once I kicked the oxygen was head to the beach. Grandma is determined to go back to Canada with a tan and we had to help her accomplish her mission!! So one day we all went down to our favourite spot Los Cedros. Is perfect for griliing dogs, and hanging in the hammock. Selva and Indio got to come along as well. We had a great day of chilling… Something we all so needed to do! We also hunted more coconuts the milk, oil and water from coconuts is amazing for the body! You should try it if you have not already! We had an awesome day at the beach!

My dad’s boss from his days of working at Orca Bay in Vancover is here with her family visiting Costa Rica for the first time. We invited them over for dinner and had such a nice time with them. Karen’s daughter and son were so sweet and entertained me by reading me books and bringing me gifts! We had a great time together and we so happy to have the opportunity to hang out together!

Easter was a very special time for me, on the Thursday before Easter I had my friends over for an Easter egg decorating party! Grandma Marg whipped up some delicious peanut butter cookies in no time flat, and we had all the supplies for egg decorating! Everyone had fun! It was nice to have Sade, Yemma, and Maya over! They were really sweet to me! On Easter Sunday grandma and my mom made this super cute bunny rabbit carrot cake! Everyone was saying how delicious it was! I really liked the way it turned out! Is just like when mom makes my birthday cakes! Sunday morning Yemma and her dad came over and we hid the eggs in the nursery. We had fun searching for the eggs! I missed my cousins Ethan and Gavin we had a grand time last year as well! After the hunt we came back for brunch and all had a very lovely Sunday! Grandma’s time is running out and soon she will be gone. I am going to miss her terribly!
