I am not sure where this month has gone. Time is flying by! I am going to be six soon! It has been a good month. I continue to stay healthy and I also continue to have seizures but they are not so debilating as they were before. My new medicine has helped to control them and they are not as intense. My therapies have been going great. My parents and Maria Jose are very proud of me. I have begun to put more weight in my arms and legs. I hear everything and watch everyone. Although I may not speak verbally I speak with my eyes and actions. My parents and MJ are helping me to communicate with a switch button. They ask me questions and I can hit the button to say YES, or we actually have it saying SI!! 🙂 You know I understand both spanish and english! Pretty good huh, for an almost 6 year old! 🙂

Exciting news in May was that I lost my first tooth! Last Sunday mom was giving me breakfast when she noticed that my bottom tooth was no longer there! Mom and dad went searching in the bed for it, but it was not there. I swallowed it! I am a big girl growing up. 🙂 I think mom was in a shock for a few days that I actually lost my tooth! Maria Jose could not believe it either! It has been a good month! I am a lucky girl.

Today I was able to spend some quality time with my new friend Gabrielle. My physical therapist before Maria Jose was Irene. She and I spent 9 months together and during those months Gabrielle was growing inside the tummy of Irene. I knew for certain we would for sure be friends one day! Over a year has passed since I have been able to see Gabrielle again. I met him once briefly when he was only a few months old. We came into San Jose for a few doctor’s appointments for me and had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Irene’s house. We were used to staying there as when Irene worked for us, it was the year I was always sick and at the hospital or staying in San Jose.

We had such a great time during our stay! We went for a stroll together, punched bubbles, and played with some of Gabo’s toys! It is funny because Gabo (Gabrielle’s nickname) has blonde her like me but both his parents have dark black hair! Irene says that since I was always on her tummy I had to have transferred my blonde locks to Gabo! 🙂 We really enjoyed our time together! Gabo was very sweet to me!One day at lunch my mom held Gabo in her arms and I was a tiny bit jealous! I let everyone know at the table as I whipped my head around to give mom the stink eye about holding another boy in her arms! I thought hey wait a minute those arms are for only me!
Gabo and Irene are coming to my birthday party! I cant wait to see them again. Thanks for the hospitality Irene!

We had a great Easter! At the begining of the week my buddies came back over and we painted eggs!! Is our new tradition! We had over 32 eggs to paint!! We made a bit of a mess but we had a good time making it messy!! I made an egg for my friend Lindsay back in Quincy MA. her favorite color is purple so we made her a purple egg.. On Easter Sunday we went to an easter egg hunt and I found two eggs with prizes in them! I took him a cactus and a golden egg! After the egg hung we went to Tierra y Fuego with our good friends Karen and Hilary and Coco. Was a great way to wrap up a really fun weekend! Love Malia

Nothing better than going to the beach on a Sunday and meeting up with our friends, Karen Hilary, Coco and Ryan… We had a lazy fun day….. Watching the waves and feeling the ocean breezes.. Ahhhhh nothing like the beach…

We had such a fun day! My friends came over and we each had our own arts and crafts project to make. MJ helped me with mine! I really enjoy having my friends around me. Am looking forward to our next project! Painting Easter Eggs! Malia xoxoxo
