Ire’s Wedding <3

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015

Last weekend we loaded up and headed to San Jose. We were invited to attend Irene Morales’s wedding. Irene was one of my physical therapist and is a good friend of mine. She just was here celebrating my birthday with me. Irene is very special and dear to me. The year she worked with us was a hard year for all of us as I was in and out of the hospital many times. Irene had her baby boy Gabrielle and left us to move back to San Jose to be with her now husband. Irene left me in great hands as she reccommended Maria Jose to come and work with us. We have always kept in touch and remain great friends.

It was such an honor to attend her wedding. Her family is like my family. They love me so much and have always been there for us. It was a beautiful day and Irene was a gorgeous bride. We all had so much fun together! I even got in a dance or two with Maria Jose. Wishing Irene and Javier all the love and happiness there is to be had! The three of three of them deserve only the best!

7 Years Old!!!!

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015

June 17th 2015
Today I turned 7 years old. Time is definitely flying and I am stronger each year. Each year my mom throws my day and I a birthday party. It always has a theme and this year it was a Hawaiian Luau! We had grass skirts and hawaiian leis! My dear friends Piti and Miguel made a homemade Lei out of tropical Plumeria flowers for me and it smelled wonderful and was gorgeous! Many friends arrived around 60 people showed up. We had many events lined up, a pinata, limbo, sack races, and my annual special concert from friends Sarah and Rachid. They played the Chelo and Violin for me and it was just beautiful..

The cake was a beach scene and I always get to try my frosting each year. It was yummy..My dad and I blew out the candles together as we share our party together each year. Dad and I did a great job together celebrating.

Another year with my family and friends. I feel so blessed. I lost a good friend last month she was only 4 years old. She had Liss/MDS like me. I do feel blessed to be here and to be strong and healthy. Not all my Liss friends have been so lucky. I am looking forward to celebrating many more birthdays. Thanks for all of you who came and for all the gifts. My dad and I had a great time, and thanks to mom for throwing such a great party for us!

Car shopping!

Sunday, May 17th, 2015

The following morning after dad was back it was time to go look at the future car I am going to have! It is a Hyundia Starex. In Costa Rica, the taxes on vehicles are very expensive! Thousands of dollars! My parents applied for those taxes to be removed since I am handicapped and we were approved! We are saving $10,000 in taxes on this car! You see I am still riding in the baby car seat that I have had now for 5 years! We are getting me a ride that I can roll right on in the car with my wheelchair and be locked down so that I dont move while my parents are driving.

My parents found the car it is Blue and now we have to wait a month or two before buying it as there is bureacratic paperwork that must be done first!! However the wheels are in motion! I am so excited and my parents are too! I will be posting pictures soon of me in my new ride! 🙂

My Dad’s Back!

Sunday, May 17th, 2015

April 21st 2015
My dad is coming home today! We are so excited to see him! Me mom and MJ loaded up and headed to San Jose! Of course we took advantage of some doctor’s appointment and I got my blood drawn and went and saw my cardiologist and nuerologist that day! My dad does not get in until 9pm. It has been four months since dad left to go to Washington. He finished off his trip with a visit to my grandma Marg. He has been working at the mountain my mom and dad used to maanage for George and Karen and he is finally coming home.

I have missed him terribly and cant wait for his hugs, cuddles, and love. Dad made it to the hotel by 10pm and I was up waiting for him. That first hug was the best ever. He whispered in my ear how much he missed me, missed my smell, missed my hugs. My family is back together again and that makes my heart happy! I love you dad!

This week hasnt been my best week. I have had a bit of a cough, seizure increase, and sleeping a ton!!!! I have slept so much this week and I think I may have a little cold. I have worked a bit with Maria Jose, but she ha been giving me a break from workng out. I did not go to school this week as my mom thinks it is better to stay home and regain my strength! I did not ride Conejo either, Don Papillo my friend brought me Conejo to ride on Thursday but we all decided I was to tired to go for my normal 30 minute ride! After Papillo left we noticed there was another horse inside the property! It was not one of Papillo’s horses so we knew we had to get the horse out of our property because horses like to eat plants!!!

My dogs Selva and Indio did not like the idea of the horse being on the property as well and began to bark and act crazy towards the horse. MOm knew that there would be no easy way to get the horse out with Selva and Indio behaving badly! Plus they could easily get kicked and my two dogs are old timers!!! So Mom told me and MJ to go and make sure ther horse did not go any further into the property. So me and Maria headed up the back and when mom came back from locking up the dogs me and Mj were hot on the horses trail. MJ was running and pushing behind the horse mom came in on the side running as well and we got him out with the help of a banana too! It was the most excitement I had all week!! Too bad we didnt have a camera. It was comical to see all three of us girls out there chasing the horse out of the property! 🙂

Happy Easter!

Saturday, April 11th, 2015

Easter is always fun for me as each year me and my friends get together and paint eggs! This was our 3rd year to do it! We had much fun and everyone had a good time together! I missed having my dad there! Mom did too! In Costa Rica Easter week is very important and many buisnesses close for the week. After everyone went home Auntie Krystal stayed the night and we had our own lil pajama party! She left the next morning to pick up my friends, Jazz and Valentino! They were going to head back home on Thursday to beat all the crazy traffic. Mom and I were solo for four days after that! We did lots of watering and strolls together.

On Easter Sunday mom and I went to the Pardo’s for lunch. It was a lovely afternoon. Their kids Rachid and Sarah played their bass violin and violin for me! I had my own private mini concert. It was awesome! I so enjoyed listening to them play! Hope everyone had a great Easter!
Mucho amor,

My First day of School!

Tuesday, March 24th, 2015

It is finally here! Yesterday was my first day of school!!! I live in a small rural town in Delicias, Costa Rica. The school I go to is in Cobano and is called Carmen Lyra. It is quite a milestone for me to be going to school. Maria Jose began to talk to my parents about school last year. My parents were a little apprehensive about taking me to school with so many other childrem. They also knew it would be a great thing for me to experience. Change is always scary but I am ready for it! We met with the director of the school last week and the rest of the teachers. They were all very nice and receptive of me. The school has a speech therapist as well that is going to work with me one on one once a week. I am excited about going to school.
Maria Jose picked out my uniform in San Jose it is quite cute for having to wear uniform! 😉 In order for me to go to school the only schedule that would work for me was the afternoon classes that start at 12:30 and I would go until 3:30. It was already decided from the begining that I would not be able to attend morning classes at 7:30am simply because I like to sleep and usually dont start my day until 10am! Since classes start at 12:30 on the days that I have to go to school I have to start having my breakfast by 6:30 am and then have lunch at 11am so that I can go to class and not have to eat lunch while there. The first day of school went off without a hitch. Mom got me going early, (I slept throught breakfast ) and then when I woke up mom had me in the shower getting me ready for my first day. Maria Jose came later and helped finished getting me ready while mom prepared other things.

We actually made it to school on time right as the bell was ringing for classes. Maria Jose will go to school with me. She is my protector! I am so happy she is going to come with me! My first class is Music. I really enjoyed hearing all the other kids around me and listening to my teacher play guitar and sing. I even have homework to do!! It was a great day and huge step! I am proud to be going to school.
