November flies by!

Tuesday, December 18th, 2012

Since being home from the hospital I have been doing really well. Irene is with us until the 1st of December and since we did not spend a ton of time together here at home I wanted to really impress her with how well I can work out when I am feeling good. My last three weeks working out with her flew by. I worked harder than ever and Irene was very impressed with me. I am going to miss her terribly. We have become such awesome friends and she is so kind to me. It has been wonderful getting to know her this year and her family. We all feel so blessed to have them in our lives. We know we will stay in touch with them and continue to be friends forever. So that is a good thing. I am looking forward to working out with Maria Jose, who will be arriving on the 2nd of December.

We had a great Thanksgiving and we have oh so many things to be thankful for… I could begin the list of thanking but then I might not ever stop as I have so many friends and family to thank and most importantly I have my health right now and I am ever so grateful for my health.. It has been so wonderful being home and enjoying where we live. We even managed to go to the beach on Sunday and listen to the sound of the waves…. Nothing quite like it.

Unexpected trip to CIMA

November 5th 2012

It was great to be home but it was not for long. I began to slowly recuperate from having such terrible reflux while in Texas but one night my parents discovered that is could very possibly be that I could have a tear or as the doctors say a miscommunication from my rectum to my vagina. Once my parents spoke and explained what they had seen with their eyes she suggested that right away we go to CIMA and that I have a vaginoscopy. In order to do this exam I would need to be put under anesthesia. My parents never like to have to put me under but it was necessary and even though it was disturbing to think that this tear might be there it was somewhat of a relief to think we might have found the answer to my problems regarding urinary tract infections.

We left on a Sunday and we had scheduled Monday morning at 11am the exam which would take approximately one hour. It was quite different checking into CIMA this time as there was no rush we arrived late Sunday afternoon went up to the room and mom and dad read to me and played me music until I fell asleep.

The next morning Rebecca came in and gave me respiratory therapy before my surgery just to make sure all the phelgm was out of my lungs before going under. My parents were with up until the anesthesiologist gave me the drug to put me to sleep. I got the hiccups right away as if I had been drinking too much! My parents were strong and when they took me I was just beginning to fall asleep.

After an hour passed the doctor came to get my parents. Only one parent could be in recovery so mom went in to check on me and speak with the doctor. The doctor said everything went fine and that he could not find anything wrong with me. He said he tried and explored every avenue possible but that he found everything to be intact. My parents were somewhat relieved but also disappointed as we all thought this would be the answer to the infections. Instead the doctor said all was fine down there and that I would not need any further surgery. On one hand that was great news as the surgery for this tear is not a easy one. I came out from my drugged state a bit cranky and I was also very sore. I did not sleep that great that night as I was uncomfortable but mom got me a pain killer so that I could finally get some rest. Tuesday evening I was allowed to go home and we went and stayed the night with Krystal and on Wednesday we drove home.
Hopefully I will be able to stay home for a while.
